Hello my name is Beaver and I am a based GIMP plugin developer. This web page was created to keep up to date with GIMP 3 and make memes about my GEGL Plugins. GEGL is an acronym for (GIMP's engine graphics library) debuted in 2000 by Rhythm and Hues engineers who seriously thought GIMP could compete with Adobe at the time, though they abandoned it. GEGL was then taken over by an individual named Pippin in 2005 who revitalized its code and made new operations. GEGL syntax was discovered by me; Beaver, in mid 2021 and my first GEGL plugin in mid 2022. In March 2023 CMYK Student implemented non-destructive editing using GEGL in GIMP 3. As of the end of August 2024 GIMP 2.99.19 has usable non-destructive editing with GEGL with only a few bugs left. GEGL and its syntax unleash waves of creative potential to the FOSS world liberating users from Adobe's creative cloud monopoly. The saddest truth is that GEGL went decades doing generic photography task unexplored and untapped until I Beaver found it and made it my "play toy" that does advance text styling and other special effects. As to re illiterate with clear information GIMP's team only used GEGL for generic photography task but when I found GEGL in 2021 I used it for advance text styling and special effects; something GIMP's team didn't really considered. Below are list of GEGL plugins I recommend using and memes.

GEGL/GIMP Plugins

GEGL EFFECTS (the layer effects engine)
which makes thousands of unique text styles

GEGL Shapes (the vector shapes plugin)
used in combination with vignette in GIMP 2.99.19+

GEGL Glossy Balloon (a shiny inflated text style)

and 90+ more plugins remain at
